Communic'Art - une présentation

Wed Aug 30, 2006, 4:14 AM
COMMUNIC’ART is pleased to present you « UN ENFANT UN ARBRE, UN FÔRET»

Helped by UNESCO's delegations and Paris, Communic'art has organized
for 2006 the project "a child,a tree, a forest". It will take place all over the world e.g in France, Belgium, Brasil, Burkina Faso or India. In the beginning"A child,a tree, a forest", will be present on all continents. It consists of mobilizing and sensitizing the youth with art manifestations. The art is used as a support of reflexion, expression, dialogue in a way to understand the environment. In the beginning, "a child, a tree, a forest" will be sponsored by Patrick Poivre d'Arvor and its purpose is to realize humanitarian action for underprivileged children. With our association, we want to realize a creative and innovative humanitarian action. It will be necessary to deal with the disparities between population and especially children concerning the education and the economy for each countries. This action will permit a professional insertion for artists in a precarious situation.

The project genesis

Since its creation, Communic'art has been working for saveing the environment using art in all its forms (writing, painting, cinema...) as a reflexion, of expression and dialogue tool. For this, creating and nature activities are organised by the association. With all of this, the projects "Kitchen garden" and the teams for plant art appeared.
With the collaboration of animators, schools, and many associations these projects were ment to give children the opportunity to develop their creativity, fantasy and skills.
The first time, COMMUNIC’ART was available for young children and by giving them the possibility to plant a garden inside.
Professional animators participated to explain the steps of germination and sensitize chidren about how important it is to preserve their environment.
The second time, they conceived entirely a kitchen garden in public parks. Finally, this experience has been the subject for documentary movies diffused in schools (these videos are available on our website : www.communic-art.com).

The project "A child, a tree, a forest" has the same objectives as these projects described above. Its target is to use art and the artistic creation as a way of mobilizing and sensitizing youth for the respect and the protection of the environment. For this, the project is organised in several steps.

The project's steps

1) Sensitize and initiate the youth to the protection of Nature
This manifestation has for goal the schools and hospitals on each continent. We are the witnesses to degradations of the world so the action « Plant a tree» has been done to find again the link between humans and nature with a collective plantation of a tree outside or in a crock. Trees are the essential links of the life circle. They play a vital role for climates and the water circulation. Forests are the richest ecosystem and the most stable ones. In fact, degradations continue and each week 20 000 hectares disappear. Only 6% of the forests are protected in the world, which is diminishing the wildlife and the flora. It is time to react and mobilize to protect our planet. The pedagogical aspect of this project is to involve and sensitize the youth around nature. The youth that lives in towns can discover nature with media, television or in zoos. It is important to give them this direct access to nature. We would like to encourage them to discover, observe and respect it with art. The project will act with short term and long term actions. Two animators will be present, one to speak about nature, and the possible solutions to resolve problems about it, and to manage an artistic team, the second will film the session to make a short documentary.

2) Wake up the childrens creativity through artistic activity
Next, the symbolic act of the tree's plantation will be followed by a drawing, a text, a dance, a poem or a song to illustrate nature. The activity will permit children to discover and relate to the environment, being in relation with others and express themselves. Activity is a need just like eating. With the artistic field children could express their thoughts and feelings born with the contact with nature. These artistic activities will allow children to be aware of the link between them and the environment. It is with activities that the child will discover its natural environment (feel the water, the dirt, the sand...) or culture(paper, painting, technical objects...). Of course, they will be managed by Communic'art animators and the artistic productions will be the object of a special publication in our magazine « L'Arbre » or a public representation. With teachers' and parents'authorization, the manifestation could be filmed by young audiovisual professionals which could result in a documentary

3) Suivi of the project by the Communic'Art director and its trainee staff
This activity will allow the trainee staff (in communication, advertising or cinema...) to be involved in the project's elaboration and its attainment. With this first experience, they are confronted with the reality of a job and, moreover, with the progression of a humanitarian project. This is an enriching experience because of the contacts created inside the association and with external institutions.

4) Transdisciplinary competition
Open to artists all over the world. A transdisciplinary competition will be organised on the theme of nature. With their work the artists will be the spokesmen of the project « a child, a tree, a forest ».Their participation and their mobilization will be the link between the project and the public opinion. That way art will become a new way to sensitize the public towards a common consiousness.
The deadline to participate has been determined until 30.09.2006, and three artistic fields are proposed : photography, painting, sculpture, poetry and cinema. We just ask 30€ for each participant to finance the project. To participate, the artists need to fill in the enrolment form and send a photograph of three works with nature as the theme. The worksall participants, artists, schools, partners and famous people to show their works realised during the manifestation « a Child, a Tree, a
>Forest ». This multicultural and multi disciplinary event will underline how the nature's reign is important. The theme of the salon is the vegetal, a fundamental element of life, artistic creativity and ecology sensitization will illustrate it. Our goal is to promote artists and involve companies and the public to the need of the protection of the planet.

5) Humanitarian action for children
One part of the money raised during the manifestation « A Child, a Tree, a Forest » will be used in favor of children by UNICEF and others humanitarian organisations for the construction of schools, buying books or medicine.
